I feel profoundly grateful for the intimacy and connection that I experience when I’m supporting an individual, couple or family as they move across these dynamic thresholds.

Imago

Whether you’re in the joyous stages of planning your wedding or you’ve been married for thirty years, Imago is a system that can teach you and your partner how to sustain and nurture true connected love.

In 2009, I became a Certified Imago Educator. Imago was created by Harville Hendrix, PhD, who co-founded Imago Relationships International with his partner, Helen LaKelly Hunt, PhD. It weaves together leading psychological theories and practical observations on the experience of love into an approach to relationships that is both compelling and easy to understand. Imago teaches conscious communication skills: moving couples from reactivity to choice and back into connection and love.

An Imago Educator provides seminars and guidance for couples who want to learn the skills and dialogue techniques of Imago.

Intrigued by the idea of teaching Imago skills to adolescents, I created a workshop where teens and their parents learned Imago techniques. I was astounded by the participation of these young people: they shared so deeply and with great enthusiasm. I was surprised and honored by their willingness to disclose such deep personal thoughts and feelings. This workshop was used as a mini research project, which showed marked improvement in skill level and comfort with communication. The following are some quotes from the workshop participants:
